What's a consultation? Is it therapy?
A consultation isn't the same thing as therapy.

Therapy typically involves a diagnosis, ongoing support, and is often a regular commitment over time. A consultation is focused on a very specific problem, includes actionable solutions, and is generally time-limited. Think of it like getting advice on a particular problem.

There will be no diagnosis given in a consultation session.

You can book additional sessions, but consultations are on a "per session" basis, whereas therapy usually assumes multiple sessions, possible communication between sessions, and doesn't always focus on actionable steps for a specific issue. 


Do you accept insurance?
No insurance is accepted. 


What's the general structure of a consultation? 
Nic will ask you a lot of questions at the beginning so he can understand your issue as clearly as possible. From there, he will provide direction and guidance in terms of specific actions you can take to address your issue. 


What's your cancellation policy? 
To protect his time, Nic institutes the following cancellation policy:

1. Cancellation 48 hours or more: Full refund

2. Cancellation less than 48 hours: 60% refund (refund = $300)

3. No-show: 40% refund (refund = $200)

This is a "no matter what" policy, meaning, it applies regardless of the reason. If Nic has to cancel, he will hold himself to the same policy that he requires of his clients. 


What about rescheduling?
To protect his time, Nic institutes the same policy for rescheduling as cancellations: 

1. Reschedule 48 hours or more: Can reschedule freely

2. Reschedule 48 hours or less: Can reschedule, but with a 40% rescheduling fee (rescheduling fee = $200)


What if I'm only one or two minutes late to cancel or reschedule and it's for a very good reason? 
The cancellation and rescheduling policies would apply no matter what, even if you're one minute late. Nic holds himself to the same requirement. 


Do you do same-day or emergency sessions?
No. Sessions are scheduled one to two weeks in advance.


How can I prepare for my session?
It's important to have a specific sense of what you'd like to address. While many issues can be interwoven, keep in mind that you'll have 70 minutes to address something specific. 


What if I'm late? 
The session will officially begin and end at the agreed upon time. If you're late, the session will still end 70 minutes from the scheduled starting time.


Why is the session 70 minutes instead of 60 minutes?
As you may know from reading his books, Nic deals with a vocal cord issue. The extra 10 minutes are a safety measure to protect your, the client's, time. If vocal cord issues slow Nic down during your session, the extra 10 minutes will make up for the time lost. Essentially, the extra 10 minutes are a courtesy as a way to make up for the possibility of lost time due to Nic's vocal cord issue. 


Can I book a session now and pay later? 
No. Payment is required before booking a session. If you'd like to ensure Nic has a time available that suits you, you can email him in advance of payment. But you won't be placed on the schedule until payment has been completed. 


What payment methods are accepted? 
PayPal, Venmo, Zelle, Apple Pay, Google Pay, or credit card.
